Grab your calendar and mark down these awesome April events, then make your plans to join in the springtime fun on the OBX beaches and around all of the OBX towns. Featured April Event: Outer Banks Bike Week
April 22-30, 2017, Nags Head Harley Davidson
April on the Outer Banks means Bike Week is back! It's one of best spring riding rallies on the East Coast. This annual OBX favorite event is jam-packed with entertainment, great food, events and special attractions up and down the Outer Banks. The event features bike shows, poker runs, guided tours, party nights, tattoo and bikini contests, over 100 vendors, live music, outdoor concerts, a pig pickin' and so much more. It's the perfect time to explore the Outer Banks on two wheels. Visit the Outer Banks lighthouses, the Wright Brothers National Memorial, Jockey's Ridge State Park and Cape Hatteras National Seashore. Plan your stay during OBX Bike Week and check out all of the fun that awaits you.

Easter Events on the Outer Banks
Hop on over to these Outer Banks Easter egg hunts, activities and eggstravaganzas for the most family fun found anywhere. Every bunny loves Easter on the OBX—and you will too.
Annual Nags Head Police Department Easter Egg Hunt, April 15, 2017 @10a.m., Town Park: Have the kids bring their own Easter basket to fill with candy and prizes. There are separate Easter Egg hunts for 1-5 year olds and 6-10 year olds. Car seat checks and fire engine and police car tours also happen at this event. Turn west onto Barnes Street in Nags Head and follow to Town Park on the left.
Fly Into Spring & Easter EGGstravaganza with Kitty Hawk Kites, April 14-15, 2017 @10a.m., Jockey's Ridge State Park: This spring kite festival takes place Friday and Saturday from 10a.m.-4p.m. at Jockey’s Ridge State Park. Enjoy fresh spring air, high flying kites, and an all around good time on the dunes. The EGGstravaganza takes place at Jockey’s Ridge Crossing, right across the street from the dunes. There are Easter Egg Hunts on both days throughout Jockey's Ridge Crossing starting at 11a.m. Hunts are broken down by age groups: 3 & under, 4-6, and 7-12. Keep an eye out for the golden and silver eggs! Please remember to bring an Easter Basket and stick around to get your picture taken with the Easter Bunny from noon-1p.m. Bring your camera for this fun and festive OBX Easter event! One more thing—it's free and open to everyone.
2017 Easter Eggstravaganza at the Elizabeth Gardens, April 15, 2017, @10a.m., Manteo: All you need to know about this event is that it's the largest Easter Egg Hunt on the Outer Banks beach with thousands of eggs! That's pretty eggciting, isn't it?
Sea Turtle Egg Hunt at the NC Aquarium on Roanoke Island, April 15, 2017 @11a.m.: Join the Aquarium this spring to learn about one of the local endangered species, the sea turtle. This activity is more than just an egg hunt! Children also take part in a sea turtle program, come face-to-face with a loggerhead turtle, and make a craft to take home. This special event concludes with an egg hunt on the Aquarium grounds as children search for eggs filled with treats! Event is held rain or shine and costs $15 per person, $13 for Members.

Daffodil Festival at the Elizabethan Gardens
April 1-30, 2017
Celebrate spring with the signature flower of the season, the daffodil. Thousands have been planted at the gardens and are in bloom for your viewing pleasure. Soak up some planting and gardening inspiration while you're here. Don't forget to take a peak at the spring gardening workshops, too.
Island Farm Opens for the Season
April 4, 2017, Manteo
Living history on the Outer Banks is found at Island Farm, which reopens for the 2017 season on April 4 continues through November 25 (closed Thanksgiving Day). Experience one-of-a-kind ox-drawn wagon rides, hearth cooking, gardening, washday, and children’s 19th century games. Check out the sheep shearing event, too!
WOOFstock 2017 at the Elizabethan Gardens
April 8, 2017, 10a.m.. to 1p.m., Manteo
Who let the dogs out? The Elizabethan Gardens did, of course. WOOFstock is an annual pet-friendly Outer Banks festival especially for your fur babies. Enjoy family-friendly fun for everyone—two and four legged—with local exhibitors, activities and contests. WOOFstock also offers live music, concessions, photography sessions and more. Check it out!
Ghosts of the Lost Colony Interactive Tours
April 10-22, 2017 @8p.m.
Step back in time and be a part of the mysteries of Roanoke Island and meet the ghosts of the past. The First English settlement in the New World completely vanished, without a trace, on Roanoke Island. Experience this historic event as you join a team of ghost hunters who have discovered hot spots believed to be associated with spirits of The Lost Colony of 1587. The Astral Plane Investigations team lead groups on an hour-long tour, visiting locations in the Fort Raleigh Park and the Waterside Theatre where ghost appearances and other paranormal activity occur. Get your tickets, if you dare!
Duck & Wine Festival
April 29, 2017 @Noon to 3p.m., Duck Boardwalk
Wine tasting along the waterfront, what could be better? Tastings happen all along the boardwalk in the Town of Duck. Merchants at the Duck Waterfront Shops welcome you to this event and invite you to check out their shops during the entire weekend. Many shops are offering special discounts for ticket holders during this timeframe, so stop by for some sipping and shopping.
